The report Evaluation and Assessment of Ontario’s Waterpower Potential (PDF)states that there is another 5,485 MW in "Practical Projects"
Niagara Falls
The existing plants at Niagara falls are:
Adam Beck I: Capacity: 498 MW
Adam Beck II: Capacity: 1,499 MW
OPG is currently constructing the Niagara Tunnel which will further increase the output from the Sir Adam Beck complex by 14%. (By our estimate this is an additional 280 MW.) It is not clear where this project is included in the list of new projects.
According to http://www.opg.com/power/hydro/niagara_plant_group/ "The plant group's annual production is in the range of 12 billion kilowatt hours, or enough power to supply over one million homes year round."
